Reggae music bingo: sunshine in the room, card in hand

Reggae has a tempo that warms a room up slowly rather than setting it off at once. For a music bingo that is a gift: there is room to talk between the songs, and still everybody knows within a few beats which record is playing.

The app comes with a ready-made playlist called Reggae Rollercoaster, holding the songs everyone knows, from the classics to the summer hits that kept the genre popular. Pick it straight away, or paste your own list from Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music or Deezer.

Music bingo for company parties, weddings, clubs, pubs and care homes

Pick the Reggae Rollercoaster playlist

Reggae Rollercoaster sits with the ready-made lists under genre. The app spreads the songs across unique bingo cards and plays 30 seconds of each one, with a 3-second gong in between. At this tempo, searching and crossing off comes easily, even for guests who do not know the genre well.

Classics next to summer hits

The strength of a reggae bingo is in the mix: alongside the big names sit the songs everyone knows from the beach. Alternate them and the card stays playable for every age. For an hour of play you need about 110 songs, for ninety minutes 164.

Where this theme fits

A reggae bingo works at a summer drinks night, a garden party or an evening with a tropical theme. Print the bingo cards two per A4 with cut lines, or let everyone play along on their own phone at bingobanger.party with your game code. You need the app, your guests do not.

Or grab the ready-made list

Rather not hunt for songs? The app has Reggae Rollercoaster waiting, curated and checked for playable previews. Open it, start it, play. Pasting your own playlist still works too.

Making a music bingo in four steps: paste a playlist, plan the night, print cards and play

Running a music bingo yourself

Traditional bingo needs numbers; this game needs songs, and that single twist is what makes it fun. There is no number to check: people listen to the opening seconds, recognise the hit and players mark it off. You do not need a professional host or a trivia round to warm a room up, because the music handles that. Most people know far more songs than they think.

Start by deciding what the evening should be. A short game of three rounds is perfect before dinner; a complete night of 90 minutes suits a party, a company event or a musical theme night. Whether your crowd grew up on the 90s or on last summer's charts, use their own music instead of a generic list: the best selection is the one where every player recognises something — a classic, a guilty pleasure, a recent hit. That is what gets people out of their seats.

The format is easy. Create the list, choose the card size and the win pattern, then give everyone a card with the song titles printed on it. Each song is played once, in a random order. The first person to fill a whole line shouts bingo, and the host verifies that call with the code along the side. Guests who would rather not print join online at bingobanger.party with your game code. Small prizes per round keep the energy up, and they do not have to be expensive.

Questions, or want a hand hosting your first game? Email robin@kreatrix.nl and you will hear from us within a working day. The app is free, six cards included.
